This documentary chronicles the experience of three quirky young men who desire to make their own distinctive mark in the world of popular music. This is not the story of their struggle to reach the top, and certainly not a traditional rags-to-riches recording-career fantasy, but the story of what happened when they almost got there. The music of Black Velvet Flag—punk-rock classics performed in a crooning, lounge-act style—mocked their audience's craving for the nostalgia of resisting conformity while showing us how ex-Punks grew up and reconciled the contradictions of their lives, and of their generation.

“...has much to say about the continuing appeal of punk music. This band is an example of a new generation of punk fans who have retooled the original DIY aesthetic of punk to their own purposes. Recommended for libraries with strong music collections.” - Library Journal
