This video presents nine Native American Fireside Stories as told by Gregg Howard, an acclaimed storyteller and linguist of Cherokee/Powhatan descent, with musical accompaniment by flutist Nash Hernandez and illustrations by Kathleen Raymond Roan. This collection of Indian stories and legends, which will entertain the entire family while teaching lessons to live by, includes the tales of "Rabbit and the Bear" (a traditional Cherokee tale of working together for the good of all), "Little Gray Bat" (a traditional Cherokee tale about what happens when you lie about who you are), "Why Rabbit Has a Short Tail" (a traditional Choctaw story illustrating the result of playing tricks on others), "The Ruby Necklace" (a traditional Cherokee origin story of the first corn), and "Little Turtle" (a traditional Cherokee tale of what happens when we try to be someone we're not).
