SOMEBODY'S CHILDREN

SOMEBODY'S CHILDREN

    Price: $265.00

    Code: 1677

Examines the plight of tens of thousands of children in South Africa who, driven by poverty and dysfunctional family lives, struggle to live on city streets. Grouped together for survival, they form marginalized communities within the inner cities, sniffing glue or smoking marijuana to ward off the hunger, cold, violence, loneliness and fear of their vulnerable existence. Personal case histories of many of these youngsters, related by the "street children" themselves, are set against an examination of the outreach work done by social welfare agencies and arts intervention projects to help them.
