This musical biography is a documentary-style recreation of the life of Thomas Moore (1779-1852), Ireland's greatest national lyric poet, whose melodies and poems were revered throughout 19th-century Europe. Acclaimed Irish baritone Niall Murray, as Moore, performs faithful renditions of the composer's most-beloved melodies, backed by a full orchestra and the world-famous Ambrosia Chorus. Hosted and narrated by Irish historian Tim Pat Coogan, and filmed in many of Ireland's finest historical homes and demesnes, the video dramatizes Moore's life, from his early romances and his serene marriage, his family and friendships, to the tragedies that marred his later life.
