From December 1999 through October 2000, the entire community at the John D. Runkle School in Brookline, Massachusetts worked together to create a work of public art. This work, called ‘The Millennium Sculpture Project,' consists of two sculpture-filled walls that form an amphitheater in front of the school. The video follows the creative process—from planning, through the production of the sculpture pieces and their installation on the walls, to the Dedication Ceremony in May 2001. In the process, it illuminates the valuable role of the arts in education.
