Profiling four artists who have had to cope with adversity, while persevering in their respective performing arts careers, this documentary celebrates the healing and restorative powers of music, dance and friendship. Windham Hill recording artist Scott Cossu, whose musical score graces the video, relates the story of his near fatal accident and inspiring recovery. Choreographer/teacher Carmel Kirtland, and her dancers Dawn Rose and Cubie Burke, are also profiled. Kirtland discusses the creative role of the choreographer and tells of her own childhood within the dance world. As we watch one of her classes, which illustrates the positive effects of music and dance on children, Kirtland explains how her work has helped her cope with the deaths of close friends, her own struggle with illness, and a dancer's fear of the aging process.
