SERVUS, ADIEU, SHALOM: JEWISH LIFE IN VIENNA
Price: $210.00 Code: 1521 |
Through interviews with contemporary Viennese Jews and rare archival film, this video
traces Jewish life in the Austrian capital, chronicling a history of alternating toleration and
expulsion dating back to the tenth century. Profiling both former residents and
expatriates, including Sigmund Freud, Theodore Herzl, Franz Kafka, Gustav Mahler, and
Billy Wilder, as well as artists, writers and other members of today's Jewish community
in Vienna, this video reveals how much Viennese and world culture owes to its Jewish
citizens.
