RAISING FACE: A MENSTRUAL JOURNEY

Features intimate discussions among women, as well as a class of fourth and fifth grade girls, about their menstruation experiences and their difficulties in talking about their periods. The women discuss their first menstrual experiences, how that experience was affected by what they were told by their mothers or grandmothers, and how this information is passed on from generation to generation. We visit a secondary school classroom presentation on menstruation, where conventional notions and taboos about menstruation are discussed by the teacher and her young students.
