This documentary focuses on the experience of a young woman doctor who in August 1993 returns to her village in South Lebanon to find it badly damaged after a massive Israeli attack which destroyed fifty villages and displaced 450,000 people. Through her relationship with her family, as well as people from surrounding villages who seek her medical care, we learn of the hopes and dreams of the people of south Lebanon as they struggle to rebuild their homes and lives. It is these ordinary Lebanese citizens who have become the forgotten hostages of a critical stage of the Middle East peace process.
