This inspirational video examines the aspects of culture and heritage that African Americans have brought into the new millennium. It features interviews with Kwanzaa creator Dr. Maluana Karenga, one of the only black brain surgeons in the U.S., an African American/Native American who was inspired by Alex Haley to discover his roots, an artists whose grandmother taught him how to create beautiful murals, a civil rights activist who defines major economic, social and health-care issues, as well as a performance by students from Marcus Garvey School.
