Set against the staggering and exotic beauty of Mongolia, Kiran Over Mongolia follows the story of a young Kazak man as he attempts to learn the culture of his ancestors through the ancient art of eagle mastery.

The Kazaks of Mongolia have been isolated from Western civilization for over 70 years by living behind the "Iron Curtain" of Soviet communism. Ironically, by living in such an extraordinarily remote and rugged mountain region just below Siberia, these Kazaks - who fled north to Mongolia when they were displaced by the western military expansion of China into then East Turkmenistan - have actually strengthened their cultural identity.

Leaving behind the trappings of city life, Kuma travels over hundreds of miles of rugged terrain to a remote region of Mongolia's western mountains - the same journey undertaken by his grandfather, a great eagle master, decades ago. There he meets a local eagle master who teaches him the art of eagle mastery, the ability to catch and train a hunting eagle, a tradition his people have practiced for millennia.

Kiran Over Mongolia documents the magnificent culture of the Kazak eagle masters and provides insight into a way of life that has been sealed off from the rest of the world for nearly a century.
